Welcome to our new shareholders

Tuesday 17th March marked the beginning of a new era for Aberdeen Equity Income Trust. We are delighted that investors holding almost 96.5% of the shares in Shire Income have elected to exchange their shares in Shires Income for shares in Aberdeen Equity Income Trust. This is one of the highest take ups in recent times and is a huge endorsement of what Aberdeen Equity Income Trust has delivered and the vision of the Board of Shires Income in suggesting the deal. As a result of the combination, Aberdeen Equity Income Trust has increased in size by over 55% and now has net assets of over £320m. This will reduce costs and increase the liquidity to the benefit of all shareholders. We look forward to meeting you in due course.
