Aberdeen Investments Strengthens Nordic Presence with Key Leadership Appointments

08 September 2025

Stockholm. Aberdeen Investments (‘Aberdeen’) is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Wahlgren, effective 7 July 2025.

As Director of Business Development, Martin will be responsible for Aberdeen’s institutional business in Denmark and Norway and will report directly to Lina Alvemur, Interim Head of Distribution Nordics. Martin previously served Nordic clients in a variety of roles over the past 25 years, and his long experience and deep knowledge of the sector will be a key addition to the firm. Most recently, he worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he spent the last 13 years building the company’s Nordic business across both wholesale and institutional. Prior to that, Martin held positions with Willis Towers Watson, ABN Amro and BNP Paribas.

The appointment of Martin Wahlgren underscores Aberdeen Investments' ongoing growth strategy in the Nordic market and strengthens the existing sales team.

The expansion of the institutional business remains a key focus for Aberdeen Investments as it continues its successful development in the Nordic region.

Lina Alvemur, Interim Head of Distribution Nordics, Aberdeen, says: “We’re very happy to welcome Martin to our Nordic team. His experience and knowledge strengthen our existing sales team and will be instrumental for our ongoing growth in the region.”
