Paul Diggle

Chief Economist, Aberdeen Investments

Paul Diggle is Chief Economist at Aberdeen Investments, where he spends his time trying to make sense of an increasingly uncertain macro world.

His thinking is shaped by the view that markets are driven not just by data, but by regimes, narratives and shifting risks that are often only partly understood. He is particularly interested in where widely held beliefs about the economy break down in practice.

Outside work, he enjoys podcasts (including hosting Aberdeen’s Macro Bytes), plays chess at club level, and can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 30 seconds.
